Climb to the Top

In honor of International Women's Day, this is my strong little woman tackling her first indoor mountain. She loved it and it was great to see her determination and grit on the way up the wall. Even better was the loud "WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!" every time she descended back down before doing it all over again. 

Life is full of ups and downs but if we recognize the downs simply as a tack in direction on the way to the top and enjoy them, the climb to the top will be that much more rewarding.

Four year-old Annika climbs at Inner Peaks. This was her first visit to a climbing gym and she clicked in to her harness and took off, straight for the top. Experienced climbers commented that she skipped the painstaking process of planning a path and just did it. Girl Power!

Renaissance Siren

I didn't take nearly enough photos at the Carolinas Renaissance Festival. There are so many things to see and do! This woman was a member of a small four-person band that was performing on a tiny stage (really more of an old-timey kiosk) in the middle of it all. They were really good!
