Jebediah Springfield

I'm always posting Harry Potter photos from Universal Orlando on Wednesdays but I thought I'd mix it up this week. I grew up with the Simpsons and was thrilled when I saw our animated neighbors finally get the credit they deserved on the world stage. I think Duff Dry really represents the future of Springfield but Universal did a great job anchoring the town with a tribute to the one and only Jebediah Springfield in order to keep everybody grounded.

Gateway to the Souk

Epcot's Morocco is my favorite of all of the world showcases. I guess that's why I shoot so many photos when I visit! The immersive Moroccan views accomplish something that I don't think many of the other world showcases have pulled off as impressively.

Merperson

Any Harry Potter fan will attest that the Merpeople are frightening. The Merperson statue in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Orlando lives up to expectations. The square around the Merperson was extremely busy so I had to get out the tripod and slow down the shutter to remove the Muggles from the frame.

Flaming Moe

Sunday means the Simpsons, right? 

When I found out there was a Moe's Tavern at Universal Orlando, I had to go!

We had a nice little break in Moe's. It's a pretty solid homage to the real deal from Springfield. I went with the standard Duff. The way too upbeat substitute bartender said Duff Dry was like Guinness. I wanted to try it, too, but we only had a few minutes. A few guys came in while we were there and one of them ordered a Flaming Moe. There was no fire but there was a lot of (dry ice) smoke.
