East Bay Street

Charleston, South Carolina
January 04, 2017 by Matt Spangard

We were out on the water in Charleston harbor just as the storm clouds started rolling in, pushing the gentle clouds from the morning away. The rain didn't start until we were back on land but the clouds did add a certain level of drama to the views. These grand homes on East Bay Street certainly have seen their fair share of drama over the years so the quick shift in tempremant was quite appropriate.

This photograph was captured with a Sony a6300.

Fleet Landing and the Custom House

Charleston, South Carolina
October 18, 2016 by Matt Spangard

There's a reason Fleet Landing is always packed with both tourists and locals on any given day. The haute-design, yet no-frills decor, wide open spaces and view of the harbor from any seat in the house make it clear that 1) you are in a decommissioned Navy building and 2) you will be enjoying delicious seafood and most likely an adult beverage or two.

Order the crab dip to get things started.

This photograph was captured with a Sony a6300.

Patriot's Point

Charleston, South Carolina
March 22, 2016 by Matt Spangard

This panorama was taken from the deck of the USS Yorktown, a decommissioned US Navy Aircraft Carrier. The boats in the photo are all moored at Charleston Harbor Marina in Mount Pleasant, just across the harbor from downtown Charleston. If you look on the horizon just to the left of the red-roofed building (the Charleston Harbor Resort), you can see Fort Sumter.

Yacht Harbor

Isle of Palms, South Carolina
March 11, 2016 by Matt Spangard

It's been a warm week in the Carolinas and it's got me thinking about summer. I took this photo of Wild Dunes Yacht Harbor on Isle of Palms last summer and I'm ready to go back! If you have a yacht in the harbor and want to go out on the water for some sweet shots of her at sea, let me know!

This photograph was captured with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone that just happens to be on sale $260 off at the moment!
