Tunnel Vision

Disney's Animal Kingdom
October 26, 2015 by Matt Spangard

This charging elephant is either in Africa or "Africa." Leave it to Disney to trump the world's greatest zoos with Disney's Animal Kingdom.

This photograph was captured with a Nikon D90.

Ferrari Ferrari Ferrari!

NASCAR hall of fame
October 25, 2015 by Matt Spangard

In honor of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix today at Circuit of the Americas, I bring you the mighty Ferrari F40. This was taken at a pit stop of the Cannonball Run-inspired Gumball 3000.

Sure, it's Lewis Hamilton's race — and season — to lose but why not pull for the "underdogs" at Ferrari? Go Sebastion & Kimi!

This photograph was captured with a Sony NEX-7.

Bulls Island Sunset

Charleston, SC
October 24, 2015 by Matt Spangard

Just off of Isle of Palms, Bulls Island is one of the most beautiful barrier islands of Charleston. Hire a boat from the IOP Marina and plan on taking a stroll along Bulls Island during sunset and you just can't go wrong... unless you head into the middle of the island to check out the giant lake that is home to thousands of alligators.

This photograph was captured with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone.

Uptown Inception

Uptown Charlotte
October 23, 2015 by Matt Spangard

This building always strikes me as the quintessential 1980s junk bond building with it's super skinny gold-plated windows. Next to the absolute architectural gems of modern-day Uptown Charlotte, it's certainly a throwback. Looking at the building from a different angle gives me a new found appreciation for it.

This photograph was taken with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone.

Bass Lake Island

October 22, 2015 by Matt Spangard

Bass Lake is just outside of Blowing Rock in the North Carolina High Country. There's a great hiking and running trail around the lake and right in the middle is this mysterious little island. I just had to check it out so I launched the drone to get a better view. I love the way the grayness of the water and lack of depth outside the island really plays with the scale of the photo.

I had a great time following this sailboat around Charleston Harbor. Looking at this photo makes me miss the summer already!

Maize Maze

Lane Southern Orchards, GA
October 20, 2015 by Matt Spangard

Located in central Georgia, nestled among peach and pecan trees, is Lane Southern Orchards. Lane does a great job of turning their farm into a destination. This seasonal crop maze is dedicated to a great cause: the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk.

This photograph was captured by a DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone.

Journey to the Louvre

Musée du Louvre, Paris
October 19, 2015 by Matt Spangard

Most Parisians would like to give the "new" glass pyramid at the Louvre a kick. This statue, standing post on the terrace of the top floor outdoor cafe, is no exception.

I captured this photo with a Nikon D90.

Sunday at Borough Market

Borough Market, London
October 18, 2015 by Matt Spangard

"Sunday Funday" is taken to a whole new level in London when the markets come alive. The king of the London markets may be Camden Market but none is more picturesque than Borough Market along the Thames. And why not have oysters and prosecco for breakfast?

The Museum of Aviation at Robins AFB is an amazing place! Here's a close-up of one of the original Flying Tigers.
