Two Years of #PhotoJambo

On October 16, 2015, I challenged myself to post a new photo every day for a year. Today marks two years of daily #PhotoJambo photos.

Today also marks a new beginning for PhotoJambo. Rather than focus on the method of creating and sharing something new every day, I'm going to take more time between posts so I can get those edits perfect and create more feature-based work.

Roundhouses on Ski Loft Road

Beech Mountain is known for it's unique roundhouses. These are sitting on curvy Ski Loft Road, which snakes along one of Beech Mountain Resort's ski slopes. The house in the middle with the unstained wooden deck belongs to a friend and former guest or ours at Slopeside. He and his family visited Beech Mountain and fell in love with it just as we did and quickly became part-time residents of the highest mountain town east of the rockies.

The High Road

There's one major paved road that loops around Beech Mountain. Most of the other roads are gravel or dirt and they branch off from the loop road, often leading higher and higher until they disappear into a mountain meadow or brook. If you have a capable off-road vehicle, exploring the unpaved trails is one of the best ways to spend a day that I can think of.

Chalet in the Woods

This is our little slice of heaven on Beech Mountain. If you're looking for a mountain chalet in the ski village for some downhill mountain biking, disc golf or mountain-top yoga in the highest town east of the Rockies, come stay at Slopeside! Don't forget to stroll over to the Beech Mountain Brewery for a few pints while you're there.
