Today is the last day of the summer season at Beech Mountain Resort. Everything closes tomorrow and preparations begin for ski season. We're looking forward to seeing everyone again in November!

Here's another view of the Wild Dunes Boardwalk pool that I featured a few days ago. This time with a little more context. It seems a fitting farewell to summer as we enter into Labor Day weekend.

I wanted to take a minute to thank Australia's Qantas-sponsored AWOL for publishing a feature about PhotoJambo and some of my aerial resort photos.
Just another beautiful morning on Beech Mountain! One of my favorite features of the DJI Mavic Pro is that you can rotate the camera into portrait mode while it is in flight and then shoot super high resolution panoramas. This photo captures exactly 360° to the pixel.
If you'd like to visit Beech Mountain this fall for leaf season or this winter for ski season, check out Slopeside!

I've experimented with Plotagraphs for a while now but this is the first one that has made it to my blog. This is the south pool at the Wild Dunes Boardwalk Pavilion. It was still early in the morning and the water was calm, leaving tranquil reflections on the bottom of the pool.

We took the Bulls Island Ferry from Awendaw to Bulls Island for a little adventure. Bulls Island sits in the middle of the 66,000-acre Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. The ferry dropped us off on the protected leeward side of the island. To get to the beach, we trekked a very long mile directly through the island's center. We were rewarded with a near-deserted stretch of coastline. In the mid-summer heat, it was probably a little too aggressive for a relaxing beach day with the kids but we still had a great time!
